The two Psychodrama Associations in Romania: The Romanian Association

offer the possibility of a meeting for all those who wish to
pay due respect to J.L. Moreno and to bring their own contributions
to psychodrama research. We have chosen Romania, the country

| About J.L. Moreno |
|
Dr.
Jacob (Jakob) Levy Moreno (18 May 1889 - 14 May 1974) was a
leading psychiatrist, theorist and educator. He is the founder
of Psychodrama, Sociometry and one of the pioneers of Group
Psychotherapy.
Moreno was born 1889 in Bucharest, Romania and grew up in Vienna.
He studied medicine, mathematics, and philosophy at the University
of Vienna. He obtainnned his M.D. degree in 1917. He had rejected
Freudian theory while still a medical student, and focused his
interest on the potential of group settings for therapeutic
practice. He continued his experimental work in psychodrama,
sociometry, and group psychotherapy after he settled in the
U.S. in 1925. He carried on his activity in New York City, mainly
at Columbia University and the New School for Social Research.
His wife, Zerka T. Moreno, Regina Moreno, Miriam Zachariah

Sibiel, picturesquely lying among green hillocks. Here
too the houses are big and solid, but the authentic village
atmosphere. There are pensions all over the place and we find
out that here the villagers have been involved in tourism for
over 30 years. We choose the Crisalia Pension (www.crisalia.ro)
and then after the copious lunch, we will visit the interesting
Museum of icons painted on glass, situated in a building in
the courtyard of the 18th century church. The icons are extraordinary,
some are almost three hundred years old and the collections
counts over 700 pieces in total. In the spring and summer one
can witness the creation of these superb artifacts in a special
room of the museum.
The Museum of Traditional Folk Civilization In the forest
of Sibiu, Romania, there is a dreamlike landscape that is the
setting for the ASTRA Traditional Folk Civilization Museum.
Even in 1966, Bernet Kempers, the reputed Dutch museum curator,
considered it the most beautiful open-air museum in Europe with
cool woodlands and sunny glades and little spring running through
it to move the wheels of water mills. In the middle of the museum,
there is a lake of 6 ha (15 acres) that mirrors its surrounding
windmills from Dobrogea and the fishermen’s building from the
Danube Delta. Floating bridges are also part of the scenery.
This beautiful environment holds the largest open-air museum
in Romania with the richest patrimony and the most original
thematic concept. It has become one of the most representative
institutions of this type in Europe.(for more informations visit:
